Every year, Omiš brings its legendary past back to life with a spectacular reenactment of the historic battle between the Omiš pirates and the Venetian fleet. More than a hundred participants recreate this dramatic clash on the sea and along the old town waterfront, offering visitors an unforgettable blend of history, excitement, and authentic Dalmatian culture. The festival has been held since 1967 and is divided into evenings dedicated to men’s klapa groups, women’s klapa groups, children’s klapa ensembles, and traditional folk singers. It has played a major role in developing and preserving the culture of a cappella folk singing. Many compositions performed here for the first time have become part of the wider Dalmatian musical heritage — and are still sung with pride today.

Omiš guitar fest was founded in 2010 with the idea of promoting the guitar as a musical instrument, achieving excellence, valuing education and becoming a place that will gather the world's best guitarists and guitar lovers in June who will enjoy their performances and lectures. The festival is unique because it contains electric, acoustic and classical guitar
