The festival has been held since 1967 and is divided into evenings dedicated to men’s klapa groups, women’s klapa groups, children’s klapa ensembles, and traditional folk singers. It has played a major role in developing and preserving the culture of a cappella folk singing. Many compositions performed here for the first time have become part of the wider Dalmatian musical heritage — and are still sung with pride today.
